She has sat on, and chaired many committees, both professionally and at the community level. Rosemary taught school in both urban and rural communities in the province, at all grade levels. Rosemary is married to Justice Robert Fowler of Brigus, and they have four children, Robin, Richard, Erika, and Jonathan. All four children are very active in sports. Both Robin and Jonathan competed in the Canada Summer Games, and Jonathan competed at the Olympic Trials in the year 2000. So, Rosemary is very familiar with the committment , training, and the personal sacrifices often required of a competitive athlete. She is a strong believer that any type of sport, in addition to the physical benefits, will build in the athlete, a strong sense of responsibility, and self discipline, as well as a knowledge of how to set goals in life, and how to make healthy life choices. Thus, Rosemary is very happy to be involved with the Labrador Winter Games.

Since moving to Happy Valley Goose Bay, with her husband, six years ago, Rosemary has moved into retirement mode. She is now a regular at the base gym; is learning to quilt (her husband is impressed), and enjoys doing lunch with the girls. She enjoys sailing with her husband, travelling and reading. Her latest claim to fame is that she is the cousin of the Coach of the OLYMPIC GOLD Curling Team!!! Thank You, Toby, for making things happen!!!
