The Labrador Winter Games truly is Labrador's premier sporting and cultural event. Once the Games get underway it will seem as if time just flies on by. The road to the games themselves starts months and months in advance.

Behind the scenes are many many dedicated and skilled individuals who invest many hours of their personal time to ensure the Labrador Winter Games are a huge success. For the last seven months a group of Committee Chairs along with the Board of Directors have been meeting every week planning and going over every detail and every possible scenario in relation to the games.

Now the volunteer aspect is not solely known is the host community of Happy Valley - Goose Bay. For if you were to have been in every community of Labrador that are taking part in the games, you would have seen a Community Coordinator volunteering his or her time recruiting athlethes from their respective community. You would have also seen many dedicated athletes training and practicing with the intent of representing thier community with honour, integrity and most of all pride.

The common denominator that makes the Labrador Winter Games what it is today is actually quite simple but at the same time very complex..... Heart.

So to all the atheltes, coordinators, staff, and the many volunteers, we wish you all the best in the spirit of unity and sporsmanship.
